Hardik Pandya captained Team India in the fifth T20 match played between West Indies and India. Under his captaincy, the Indian team performed brilliantly and won the match by 89 runs. However, after winning the match and the series, Hardik Pandya did something that surprised everyone. He broke an age-old tradition started by former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

After winning the trophy, Dhoni always used to give a chance to lift the youngest and new players. From Virat Kohli to Rohit Sharma carried forward this tradition of Dhoni. But after winning the series against West Indies, Hardik Pandya broke his tradition. Hardik Pandya handed over the trophy to a support staff of the team.

However, one of the reasons behind this could also be that there was no debutant player in the T20 selected on the West Indies tour, who has never lifted the trophy before. After winning the T20 series trophy, Hardik Pandya reached the team and he brought one of his support staff near the team. Hardik gave him the trophy and asked him to take a picture with the team. However, the name of that support staff has not been revealed yet.
