Before the start of India's campaign in the T20 World Cup 2022, experts are giving their opinion about the Indian playing XI. In this episode, former Indian opener and two-time World Cup-winning player Gautam Gambhir also gave his opinion. Gambhir selected the Indian playing XI for the first great match against Pakistan and in this, he replaced Dinesh Karthik in Rishabh Pant. There has been a debate about the Indian playing XI for some time as to which one to feed Dinesh Karthik or Rishabh Pant. In such a situation, the captain and team management expressed confidence in Karthik and this player also proved this decision of the team right on many occasions.

But Gambhir believes that feeding Dinesh Karthik in Australia can prove to be dangerous for India. In such a situation, he should give it a chance to Rishabh Pant. Gambhir explained his point and said that Karthik has so far shown that he can bat in the last few overs, but if wickets fall early, no one knows whether he will prove to be effective or not. Because of this, Gambhir wants Pant to get a place in the match against Pakistan.

Talking to Zee News, Gambhir said on this issue, 'In my playing XI, Rishabh Pant will play at number 5, while Hardik will be at number 6 and Axar Patel will come at number 7. But according to what we saw in the practice match, Dinesh Karthik will play. But you can't pick one player for 10 balls.

He further said, 'You should choose the player who can bat at number 5 or 6'.But Dinesh Karthik did not show any such intention. He and the team management showed that he would bat only in the last two or three overs and that could prove to be dangerous in Australia. If you lose early wickets here you have to send Axar Patel up because you don't want to bring in Hardik Pandya early. Because of this, I selected Pant in my playing XI. But it will not happen.'

Gambhir's Predicted Playing XI- Rohit Sharma (Captain), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh/Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami.
