The Indian cricket team has been announced for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 on 12 September. A total of 15 players have been given place by the selectors for this tournament to be played in Australia. While four players have been kept on standby.

Jaspreet Bumrah and Harshal Patel, who were out due to injury in the team, have returned. Both these players are part of the main team. Mohammed Shami, who was included in the team in the 2021 World Cup, has been kept on the list of standby players. In such a situation, the former captain of Team India, Kris Srikkanth is seen raging on the selectors regarding the selection of Harshal Patel.

According to Kris Srikkanth, this player should have been selected for the team

Former Indian cricket team captain and former selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth (K. Shrikant) says that Mohammed Shami should have been given a place in the team for the T20 World Cup. He clearly says that Mohammed Shami should have been kept in the team in place of Harshal Patel.

If Srikanth was a selector, Shami would have got a place in the team

Speaking on the 'Follow the Blues' special program of 'Star Sports' after the announcement of the Indian cricket team, Srikkanth said, "If I was the current chairman of the selection committee, Shami would definitely be in the team. We will play the World Cup in Australia, Shami has the ability to get the pace and bounce.

He can get swing and take early wickets. I would have kept Shami on the team instead of Harshal Patel. There is no doubt that Harshal Patel is a good bowler, but Mohammed Shami is a better player depending on the circumstances.
