Top women's badminton player P.V. India's challenge came to an end when Sindhu and men's singles player Lakshya Sen lost in the quarterfinals of the Indonesia Masters. Seventh-seeded young Indian badminton player Lakshya Sen lost to third-ranked Taipei's Chou Tin Chen 18-21, 21-17, 18-21 after a three-game battle.The confrontation lasted more than an hour.

India's double Olympic medalist badminton player P.V. Indus landed as the fourth ranked player. However, they lost 15-21, 10-21 in straight games to fifth-ranked Thailand's Inthanon in the quarter-finals. The match played in Jakarta saw Sindhu completely out of form. While Inthano had a grip on the match from the start. Sindhu was knocked out after only 3 minutes of struggle.
