The Asia Cup 2023 was handed over to Pakistan by the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Jay Shah last year, and now after almost a year, he has announced that the Asia Cup 2023 will be organized at a neutral venue because India's team Will not travel to Pakistan. Jay Shah's statement has angered the Pakistan Cricket Board, which has called for an emergency meeting of the ACC and has also threatened to pull out of the World Cup to be held in India next year.

The Pakistan Cricket Board wants the Asia Cup 2023 to be organized here and the Indian team comes to play. At the same time, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has made it clear that they do not visit Pakistan or any other country without the permission of the Government of India. India's Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has also said in his statement that it is for the Home Ministry to decide whether India will travel to Pakistan or not, but it is unlikely that the Indian government will allow it.

Will ICC be able to intervene?

Due to all this rhetoric, former cricketers are seeking intervention from the International Cricket Council (ICC) in the BCCI vs PCB matter, but does the ICC have the power to resolve the issue? The answer to this question is no. The ICC does not have any power that can end the ongoing dispute between the cricket boards of the countries, because its job is to control and administer cricket, not to resolve the dispute between the two countries.

Whether there will be bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan depends on the mutual relations between the government and the board of both countries. Had it been in the hands of the ICC, then India vs Pakistan bilateral series would have been mentioned in the Future Tours program. The ICC also prepares its FTP only, which both countries are ready for because they will play a bilateral series at that time. At the same time, the ICC will not put its leg in the Asia Cup, because the responsibility of organizing it lies with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
