OTT platform Disney + Hotstar on Friday announced that users on the app will be able to watch all the matches of the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup for free this year. Hotstar is going to try Mukesh Ambani's Jio Cinema method to increase its viewership.
Jio Cinema had shown all the matches of IPL 2023 for free, due to which the company got record viewership. Disney+Hotstar wants to challenge Jio Cinema's growth in India by showing ODI World Cup and Asia Cup for free. That is, no subscription will be required to watch all the matches of the Asia Cup and World Cup on the Disney + Hotstar app.
The company claims that more than 54 crore mobile users will benefit from this. Asia Cup will be held in September and ODI World Cup in October-November
