Before the Test series was to be played against England, New Zealand suffered a major setback. Before the start of the series, three people, including two New Zealand players, be corona infected. This was confirmed by New Zealand Cricket on Friday morning. The first tour match between Sussex and New Zealand is to be played from Friday itself. The Kiwi team is currently on a tour of England to play a 3-Test series. The first match of the Test series to be played between the two countries will be played on June 2 at the historic ground of Lord's.

New Zealand's Test team is in Brighton these days. New Zealand Cricket said in its statement on Friday, 'Three members of our camp are Covid-19 infected on the morning of the first tour match against Sussex in Brighton. The infected people have been quarantined after their reports came positive in the corona investigation.

The board further said, 'Apart from 2 cricketers Henry Nicholls and Blair Tickner, the rapid antigen test report of bowling coach Shane Jurgenson came positive. After which all have been quarantined for 5 days.'

No change in a tour match


New Zealand Cricket further said, 'Apart from these three members of the team, the report of the corona investigation of all the remaining people was negative. There will be no change in the tour against Sussex. It will be as per the pre-determined schedule.' Tickner and Nicholls are part of the 20-man New Zealand team that will play a three-Test series against England. England team led by Ben Stokes will play the first test match against New Zealand from June 2.
