You must have seen many batsmen scoring a century in the debut match. But if a player scores a century in the debut match and in the last match, then it is a big deal. There have been only 3 batsmen in Test cricket so far, who scored a century in the debut match and in the last test match of their career.

Greg Chappell

Greg Chappell was a former Australian captain, who made his Test debut in 1970 and scored 108 runs in his debut Test match. He played his last Test match against Pakistan in 1984, scoring 182 runs.

Mohammad Azharuddin

Former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin started his Test career in 1984 and scored a century of 110 runs in the very first match. He played the last Test match against South Africa in 2000, in which he also played fine innings of 102 runs and ended his Test career with a century.

Alastair Cook

Alastair Cook is a former captain of the England cricket team, who played the first Test match of his career against India in 2006 and returned unbeaten to the pavilion after scoring 104 runs in that match. Cook also scored a century in his last Test match. He retired from international cricket after scoring 147 runs at the Oval.
