Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is called the God of Cricket. But once Sachin Tendulkar was also accused of ball tampering and he was banned for one match. Along with Sachin, 6 other players of Team India were also banned. Along with this, his fee was also deducted. But in the end, the ICC had to withdraw all the charges against Sachin. But this incident is still recorded in the pages of history.

On the third day of the second test match played between India and South Africa in Port Elizabeth in 2001, Virender Sehwag went ahead appealing Harbhajan Singh's ball. However, Sehwag expressed his displeasure after the umpire refused. Sachin Tendulkar bowled in this match. But he was getting good swing compared to other bowlers. One camera showed Sachin rubbing his hand over the seam. After which the match referee and the police captain banned the Indian players in addition to fines. Sachin was also suspended for one match for ball tampering.

Mike Dennis on Virender Sehwag was banned for one match for instigating the umpire. Apart from them, Harbhajan Singh, Deep Dasgupta, and Sundardas were banned for a 1-1 test match due to more appeals. While captain Sourav Ganguly was suspended from one Test and two ODIs for not controlling the players. Along with this, 75 percent match fees of all six players were also deducted.

But after the wrong decision on 6 players of Team India, the BCCI opened a front against the match referee and the ICC. The BCCI demanded the removal of Mike Dennis from the series, otherwise, he talked about playing the third Test match. The ICC did not accept this demand of the BCCI. But because of the threat of not having the final Test, Cricket South Africa dropped Mike Dennis. But the ICC did not accept this decision and refused to give official status to the third Test match.

The South African team won the third test. But it was said to be unofficial. After the ICC investigation, the ban imposed on Ganguly and Tendulkar was lifted. But Sehwag was banned.
