The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed Mastercard as its title sponsor for national and international domestic matches. The board has tied up with Mastercard for this. Under this agreement, MasterCard will now be the BCCI's title sponsor for all domestic and international matches (both men's and women's) held at home grounds. This includes domestic cricket matches such as the Irani Trophy, Duleep Trophy, and Ranji Trophy, as well as all junior cricket (under 19 and under 23) matches organized by the BCCI.

Speaking on the occasion, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said: “The BCCI welcomes MasterCard as the title sponsor of domestic cricket matches for the 2022-23 season. Along with international home series, domestic tournaments are also important for BCCI as they are a step towards making India a strong international team.

MS Dhoni, the former World Cup winner of Team India, has been the brand ambassador of Mastercard for the last four years. Speaking on the occasion, Dhoni said, "Cricket has been my life and has given me everything that I have. With regard to the association of MasterCard with BCCI for all BCCI domestic cricket matches and especially domestic, junior, and women's cricket. I am excited."
