India got its first gold medal of the 2023 edition when shooting trio Rudraksh Patil, Aishwarya Tomar, and Divyansh Panwar won the 10m air rifle team event.
The trio achieved the top rank with an impressive score of 1893.7, breaking the world record of 1893.3 points set by China in August earlier this year.
South Korea's team won the silver medal with 1890.1 points while China won the bronze medal with 1888.2 points.
With the first gold, India's medal tally at the Asian Games 2023 now stands at seven. This includes shooting gold along with three silver and three bronze.
