The Asia Cup is about to start on August 27, for which all the teams are fully prepared. In 1983, the Asian Cricket Council was established. The Asian Cricket Council was established to promote goodwill among Asian countries, which resulted in the start of the Asia Cup. It sounds good to hear everything. But the truth behind being is something else.

The credit for the start of the Asia Cup should go to England. Even though England does not play in the Asia Cup, England had done something for which the Asian Cricket Council had to form an answer. Let us know about this in detail-

Something happened in 1983 that no one could have imagined. The final match of the World Cup was being played at Lord's, in which the teams of England and West Indies were face to face. BCCI Chief NKP Salve also reached England to watch the final match. Before the final on June 25, Salve asked for two more passes from the English Board officials who were known to him, but they refused to give this pass, the ICC also refused to give the pass to Salve. But Salve did not do any spectacle at that time.

Salve was not upset about not getting the pass. Rather, he got angry with the behavior that was done to him. Salve swore that the World Cup on which the British are so stubborn will snatch it from them. The first three World Cups were played in England. At that time it was believed that World Cup matches could not be held outside England. But in the very next World Cup, the right to organize was taken away from England and all this happened because of India and Pakistan. Everything was possible because of the unity of Asian countries. The votes in the ICC were 37–two from 8 Test nations and one vote each from 21 Associates.

When India won the Asia Cup World Cup title on 25 June. Only after that, he started making his plans. On June 26, the day after the final, Salve's brother-in-law gave a lunch in honor of the team. The Chief of Pakistan Cricket Air Marshal Khan was also invited. Because at that time Pakistan's team was the second largest team with whom it was very important. Salve got Marshal Khan ready. But India and Pakistan alone could not do this together. After which the integration of Asian countries started. Gamini Dissanayake of Sri Lanka was also included in this campaign. But he made a condition that Sri Lanka would not spend a single penny.

In 1983, a meeting was held in Lahore, in which everyone gathered and it was decided to play the Asia Cup. However, none of these boards had money. For this, the next meeting was held in Delhi. Those Asian countries were called which were members of the ICC. Where there was a special guest - Sheikh Bukhatir of Sharjah. Till then the Emirates Cricket Board had not been formed and the UAE was not even a part of the newly created council. Bukhatir was called to this meeting for a specific purpose.

He was already organizing unofficial matches in Sharjah and wasting a lot of money on the teams. He still had to do the same. In exchange for paying the money, he got the right to organize an official cricket match. In this way, the Asia Cup was organized for the first time in 1984. On organizing the Asia Cup, that person spent money, whose team was not even playing. This is where One Day International cricket started in Sharjah.
