Asia Cup 2023-24 Calendar: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) released the cricket calendar for 2023-24 on Thursday. Council President Jay Shah posted it on Twitter. He also confirmed that the Men's Asia Cup 2023 will be held in September, with India and Pakistan in the same group. Given the One Day World Cup 2023 (ODI World Cup 2023), this multi-nation tournament will be organized in the format of 50 overs. Last time it was played in the T20 format. The reason for this was the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia.

It is not yet known whether the Men's Asia Cup 2023 will be held in Pakistan or not. Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), had said a few months ago that the Indian team would not go to play Pakistan and this multi-nation trophy would be held at a neutral venue. On this, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) threatened that it will not come to India for the ODI World Cup 2023. However, now the PCB has changed. Najam Sethi has become the president in place of Ramiz Raja. He has said that the government will decide on going to play India or not.

There will be a total of 13 matches in the Asia Cup 2023.

According to Jay Shah's tweet, there will be some 6 teams in the ODI Asia Cup to be held in September. These are divided into two groups. India, Pakistan, and Qualifier-1 are in one group. There are Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan in the second group. There will be a total of 6 matches in the league stage. Two teams from each group from the league stage will advance to the next round. Then there will be Super-4 in a round-robin format. During this, there will be a total of 6 matches between 4 teams. Then there will be the final. There will be a total of 13 matches in the tournament.

Sri Lanka became the winner last year

Asia Cup 2022 was played in UAE. Sri Lanka became the champion by defeating Pakistan in the final. Team India reached the Super-4 by winning both matches in the group stage but was eliminated after losing to Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
