Anya Shrubsole, the fast bowler who led England to the World Cup, has retired from international cricket. The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed this on Thursday. Shrubsole was part of England's world-winning team in 2009 and 2017. She played an important role in making England the world champion by taking 6 wickets against India in the World Cup final played at Lord's in 2017. She was also a member of the England cricket team in the Women's World Cup 2022.

Recently, she bowled brilliantly in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup played in New Zealand. In this World Cup, Shrubsole took 9 wickets in 8 matches while bowling excellently. Her best performance in the Women's World Cup 2022 was 3 for 46. Due to his bowling, England reached the final of the Women's World Cup. She played the last match of her international career in the World Cup final against Australia.

Honor for me
Shrubsole said in her statement, I am extremely honored to be able to represent my country for the last 14 years. It is an honor for me to be involved in women's cricket. At present, cricket is progressing faster than I am. So it's time for me to step away from cricket.

Will continue to play domestic cricket

Anya Shrubsole may have retired from international cricket, but she will continue to play in domestic cricket. Anya Rachel Heahoe will continue to play in the Flint Trophy, Charlotte Edwards Cup, and The Hundred tournaments. ECB Managing Director of Women's Cricket Claire Connor said Anya has been a tremendous servant of England's women's cricket. Her bowling with the new and old ball at an older age was excellent for so many years.

Anya Shrubsole played in 8 Test matches for England, taking 19 wickets. Her best performance in the biggest format of cricket was 4 for 51 runs. She represented England in 86 ODIs and took 106 wickets. Her best performance in ODI cricket was 6 wickets for 46 runs. Apart from this, Shrubsole played 79 T20 Internationals, in which he took 102 wickets. Her best performance in T20 International was 5 wickets for 11 runs.
