Pahalgam Terror Attack: Security Forces on High Alert Following New Threats

Following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, security forces in Kashmir are on high alert due to new intelligence reports indicating that militants are actively planning further attacks. The targets include railway infrastructure, Kashmiri Pandits, non-locals, and security personnel working in the region.

On April 22, terrorists opened fire in the Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, killing 26 people. Intelligence officials have warned that non-locals, including railway workers, are at increased risk. Many of these workers are not from the region and may be vulnerable due to their visibility in public spaces. To ensure their safety, security personnel have been instructed to avoid leaving their barracks and roaming in markets.

Additionally, reports suggest that Pakistan's spy agency, the ISI, is planning targeted attacks on Kashmiri Pandits and police personnel, particularly in the districts of Srinagar and Ganderbal. These threats have prompted immediate action from security forces. The Railway Protection Force (RPF), in coordination with local police and other agencies, has been ordered to take all necessary precautionary measures to safeguard railway projects and prevent any terrorist attempts.

The heightened security measures come as authorities continue to monitor the evolving threat landscape and work to prevent further violence in the region.
