Atrocities against women are increasing. Be it a train or bus, women are not safe anywhere. In such a situation, many types of schemes are brought by the government for the safety of women. MeriSaheliYojana is also a scheme in which women will be provided facilities while travelling. Women travelling by train will get the benefit of this scheme. To provide security to women, RPF has started "MeriSaheli" scheme across the country.

Which women will get the benefit of this scheme?

The benefit of this scheme will be given to all the women travelling by train especially those women who travel alone in the train. It is often seen that whenever women travel alone on a train, seeing them alone they start molesting them.

Therefore, now women traveling by train do not need to worry. The MeriSaheli scheme will identify those women in trains who are travelling alone and will provide them special protection. Besides, those women will also be monitored.

How will women passengers get the benefit?

There will be only women in the team of MeriSaheliYojana. Other women travelling in the train will be taken care of by women only. This team can question women travelling alone as to where they are going, whether anyone is harassing them, and whether they are facing any kind of problem on the train.

Women passengers can find different teams at every station. Under this scheme, RPSF escort staff and RPF will be present at trains and railway stations for any immediate action.

Toll-free number

If women passengers face any kind of problem on the train, they can also complain about toll-free number 182. In case of any problem or inconvenience during the journey, she can contact this number. In September 2020, South Eastern Railway came up with this initiative. In which a team of women RPF personnel has been formed.
