Angered by this, Sundar started harassing Meena continuously. Meena was harassed for dowry for two years after marriage, but eventually this harassment turned into murder.

Husband killed his wife when his dowry demand was not met

Tired of her troubles, Meena had sought help from her family. She had told her father how Sundar and his family were harassing her for dowry. But no immediate action could be taken on her voice.
