The Election Commission has announced the election dates in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar is holding a press conference to announce the program. The result will be declared on 3rd December 2023.

Madhya Pradesh: 17 November

Rajasthan: 23 November

Chhattisgarh: 7 and 17 November

Telangana: 30 November

Mizoram: 7 November

The voter list will be announced on October 17. MLAs will be elected for 230 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh, 200 constituencies in Rajasthan, 119 constituencies in Telangana, 90 constituencies in Chhattisgarh, and 40 constituencies in Mizoram.

Congress is currently in power in 2 states- Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, while BJP is ruling Madhya Pradesh. In Telangana, the KCR-led Bharat Rashtra Samithi is in charge, and in Mizoram, the Mizo National Front (MNF) is in charge.

An observer meeting was called by the Election Commission on Friday to draft a plan for peaceful elections. Expenditure monitors from the Police, General, and EC discussed how to streamline the scheme so that the model code is implemented and financial considerations do not distort the playing field.
