The government has taken a big decision on the excise duty on the export of petrol and diesel on Wednesday. According to the order of June 30, the Finance Ministry has given relief in the excise duty on the export of petrol and diesel. In the information given by the Ministry of Finance, it was told that after the new order, the excise duty on petrol will be completely abolished. Apart from this, the excise duty on diesel has been reduced from Rs 12 to Rs 10.

Excise duty reduced on ATF

Let us tell you that earlier the excise duty on petrol was Rs 5 and on diesel, the excise duty was Rs 12, which has been reduced by Rs 2 a liter. Excise duty on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) has also been reduced by the Finance Ministry from Rs.6 to Rs.4. At the same time, the excise duty on crude oil has been reduced from Rs 23,250 per kg to Rs 17000 per kg.

On the other hand, petrol-diesel prices in the domestic market have been stable for the last two months amidst upheaval in the international market. On May 21, 2022, excise duty was cut here also by the government. At that time, it was reduced to Rs 8 per liter on petrol and Rs 6 per liter on diesel. After this, some states also gave relief to the public by reducing VAT. Recently, by reducing VAT in Maharashtra, there has been a relief of Rs 5 per liter on petrol.
