Lawyers are angry over the murder of senior advocate Kanishka Mehrotra in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. In protest against the incident, the advocates of the district have gone on strike till August 5. Several police teams have been formed to investigate the incident and arrest the accused. IG Prashant Kumar inspected the spot. Three accused had come to murder lawyer Kanishka Mehrotra. One of the attackers shot the lawyer by placing the gun on his temple.
Lawyer Kanishka Mehrotra died during treatment in Lucknow. Police has detained 4 suspects in this incident. They are being questioned. These include three influential people of the city. Police is investigating every aspect in the advocate murder case. The people who have been detained by the police had bought a large part of the controversial Mehrotra Kothi. Harsh, brother of deceased lawyer Kanishka, has given a public statement that there are five-six people who wanted to build a hotel here and were pressuring Kanishka to sell the part of the Kothi occupied by him.

Police is investigating personal and business matters along with property dispute. Kanishka's father Jugal Kishore Mehrotra was a famous criminal lawyer. Kanishka was also considered a mastermind lawyer. He had become depressed after his wife's death 8 years ago. His murder has become a topic of discussion in the nearby districts.
