Katihar: A female constable posted in Koira of Katihar district committed suicide by hanging herself last Tuesday. This tragic incident shook everyone because the female constable committed suicide while being live on a video call. A suicide note has also been found from the room, in which she has mentioned her deep love for her childhood friend. Since the incident, there is mourning in the family of the female constable. It is said that the family members were looking for a match for her marriage for the last few days. But the incident of the daughter's suicide has shattered the parents.

Hailing from Muzaffarpur, 2018 batch constable Anita Kumari was posted in Kodha since May 2023. She worked as a typist in the police inspector's office and lived in the women police barracks in the police station premises. On Tuesday evening, another constable living in the neighbourhood found Anita hanging.
Mention of childhood friend in suicide note
The suicide note revealed Anita's mental condition. She returned to work on 22 August after a ten-day leave. In the suicide note, Anita expressed her deep love for a childhood friend from her village and her grandfather and mother. She also wrote that she is leaving this world of her own free will and no one is responsible for this.
Question about earphones around neck
At the time of Anita's death, she had earphones hanging around her neck, which raised many questions. Anita's brother Suraj said that there was no dispute in the family. Anita had spoken to her mother on the phone in the morning and to her sister in the afternoon on the day of the incident. Their father is said to be mentally ill, and Anita was taking care of the financial responsibility of the family. The family was looking for a good match for Anita's marriage and it was decided to get her married in February 2025. However, her brother has expressed doubts over the circumstances in which Anita committed suicide and has demanded a police investigation.
The wedding was to take place next February
Anita's family is in deep shock due to her death. Suraj told that there are five sisters and one brother in the family, out of which three elder sisters are married. Anita was the only one who was running the family expenses from her police job. The family had started looking for a good match for her marriage, and talks were going on with many places. The family was preparing to get her married in February next year.
