Delhi Police has busted a gang that preys on divorced women by posing themselves as NRIs. After cheating on the women, the accused used to shun them. The accused has done three marriages and has cheated about 50 women.

According to the police, the main kingpin of this gang, Purushottam Sharma alias Pankaj Sharma, used to target divorced women through matrimonial sites posing as NRIs and duping them on the pretext of getting marriage and visa. Till now the main kingpin has cheated more than 50 women.
According to the police, the arrested Purushottam Sharma alias Pankaj Sharma and Kuldeep Singh alias Bobby have been arrested on the complaint of a woman. A woman living in the Paschim Vihar area of Delhi had given a complaint to the IGI Airport Police Station.
In this way, the accused used to cheat
The woman had told that she is divorced and gets Rs 25 lakh as alumni. The woman told that she met a man named Pankaj on the matrimonial site. Slowly in conversation, Pankaj proposed marriage to the woman. Pankaj also told the woman that he helps to send people abroad who want to settle abroad and he has many offices in Punjab, Chandigarh, Ambala as well as in different places.
The woman alleges that later Pankaj told the woman that due to some family reasons he could not get married but could look for a good man in Canada for the woman who is of her choice, whom she can marry. Believing Pankaj, the woman gave him her ITR, photo, bank statement, and passport, etc.
The accused used to abstain from work by making fake excuses
After taking the original passport, he started demanding money on one pretext or the other and whenever the woman asked him about the delay in work, he would make excuses by citing Covid as the reason and finally said that due to Corona, people were unable to go abroad from India. is having a lot of trouble. So he gambles visa from Indonesia Embassy, then under the plan, Pankaj got a fake visa made through his associate Kuldeep and gave it to the woman, but when the woman came to know that she had become a victim of fraud, then complained to the police...
The police started the investigation by registering an FIR and found Pankaj's location in Amritsar, Punjab, Delhi Police reached Amritsar and arrested Pankaj.
After getting money, talks with women stopped
Pankaj told during interrogation that he would first search for divorced women on the matrimonial site. After that, he used to send messages to everyone one by one. Pankaj used to go ahead with the conversation by telling women as NRIs and then put forward the proposal of marriage. When a woman had confidence in Pankaj, she used to fix the meeting. When the woman came into confidence, she used to keep the women's passport and all the documents with her. In the name of getting the visa, after that under the Pankaj plan, visas are getting delayed or lakhs of rupees were collected by telling all kinds of false problems. After getting the money, he used to stop talking to women.
The accused has done 3 marriages
During interrogation, Pankaj told that he had ordered a fake visa sticker from his colleague Kuldeep. Police also arrested Kuldeep from Rohini. Police investigation revealed that Pankaj has already done 3 marriages and FIR has been registered in all three cases. Two women have lodged an FIR in Delhi while one in Punjab. According to the police, after the arrest of accused Purushottam alias Pankaj Sharma, several other victims came forward and lodged complaints against the accused of cheating on the pretext of marriage and sending them abroad.
