A strange case has come to light in Purnia, Bihar. A woman has alleged that her husband is constantly marrying new brides. So far he has married thrice. But he is going to marry again for the fourth time. When the matter reached the counselling centre, the husband said- what should I do, no wife stays with me. All of them keep nagging. The counselling centre people were also surprised to hear the man's words. Then they gave a verdict in the case.
The case is of Bardela village of Dhamdaha police station area. Shabnam Khatoon, who lives here, filed an application against her husband to Purnia SP. She told that 13 years ago a man divorced his first wife and married her. Both of them also had three sons. Just three years after this marriage, her husband left her. Then he brought a third bride home. But now the husband is fed up with her too. He is preparing to marry for the fourth time.
The SP was also shocked to hear the woman's words. The matter was sent to the counselling centre. Here on Monday, the victim and her husband were called to the counselling centre. The victim Shabnam said - Sir, I was married to this man 10 years ago. Then he left his first wife and married me. But within three years, as soon as we had three sons, this man got fed up with me. He left me and my sons alone to wander from door to door. Then he married another woman and settled down somewhere else.
The victim said- Now I have come to know that he is bored with his third wife and is going to marry the fourth. But there is no guarantee that how long that marriage will last. Because he is fond of new women. As soon as he gets bored of them, he woos another one. But he does not think about how his abandoned wives will earn their living. I work as a labourer to feed myself and my children. Whatever I earn, I am only able to buy food. I want to educate my children. But I am helpless. There is no money. I want him to give me and my children a living allowance.
The wives make noises
When the woman's husband was asked about this, he said - Sir, what should I do? No wife stays with me. All of them keep nagging. That's why I got married again. Hearing such things from her husband's mouth, his wife said - Yes, only he is a saint. All his wives are wrong. Sir, one wife can lie. But all three of us wives of this man say that he is not a good husband. Still, I am ready to live with him if he bears the expenses of me and my children. I am doing this only for the sake of my children.
Decision of the counseling center
After listening to both the parties, the counselling centre decided that the husband will give his wife 2 thousand rupees every month as expenses. Also, citing religion, he will not marry for the fourth time. If a complaint is received against him again, he will be sent directly to jail. The husband has agreed to accept this condition.
