A fire has been reported on a ferry in the Jhalkoti district of Bangladesh on Friday morning. According to a Reuters report, 32 people aboard the ferry have died in the fire. 100 people have been injured. Additional deputy commissioner of Jhalokati district, Mohammad Najmul Alam, said that there were about 1,000 people on the ferry. The ferry was going from Dhaka to the Barguna district. The accident happened at a distance of 200 km from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

Local police chief Moinul Islam told AFP news agency, "The three-story ferry Obijan 10 caught fire in the middle of the river. So far 32 bodies have been recovered.
