The world's oldest banyan tree has been discovered in the Narora district of Bulandshahr, UP. According to a team of scientists, this tree is alive for 500 years even after facing many disasters. How big is this tree?

This tree, located in the Narora district of Bulandshahr, was discovered during a floristic survey in Ganga Ransar. The tree was discovered by a team of scientists from the Botanical Survey of India, Prayagraj Centre, Bebe-Bolyai University, Romania and a laboratory in Johannesburg, South Africa.

This tree is spread over 4,069 square meters. The tree is 450 to 500 years old according to radiocarbon dating.

Even after being 500 years old, the banyan tree remains in perfect condition. Being 500 years old, this tree has also faced many disasters. Several steps are being taken to preserve this tree. People from far and wide also come here to offer prayers. The tree comes in 10th place among the giant banyan trees of the world because of its size. Not only this, many big banyan trees have been discovered even before the Narora banyan tree.

Before this, the oldest known banyan tree is in Howrah. This tree is 350 years old. Andhra Pradesh has the Thimmamma Marimanu tree, whose area is 19,107 square meters. There is also a tree named Kabir Banyan in Gujarat which is spread over 17,520 square meters.
