Meta-owned WhatsApp has announced the launch of a helpline service in India. WhatsApp has said that through these helplines, complaints about misinformation, AI-generated fake content, and deepfakes can be made.

Meta and Misinformation Combat Alliance (MCA) has said that a helpline desk will soon be launched for WhatsApp users, where users will be able to complain about fake information.

Let us tell you that just a few days ago, about 20 tech companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Meta joined hands to stop fake and AI-generated content in the elections to be held this year in many countries of the world including India.

MCA works to combat misinformation in partnership with tech industry partners. For your information, let us tell you that Deepfakes have become a big issue at this time. Deepfake photos or videos can be in any format.

At present, deepfakes are becoming so accurate that it has become difficult to differentiate between real and fake. To fight deepfakes, MCA is also creating a central deepfake analysis unit that will identify deepfake content.
