Instant messaging app WhatsApp has announced that it has banned more than 76 lakh accounts in India. Regarding this, WhatsApp has released its compliance report under the new IT Rules 2021, in which information about taking action on the accounts of Indian users has been revealed.

According to WhatsApp, the app has banned 76 lakh 28 thousand accounts between February 1 and 29, out of which 14 lakh 24 thousand accounts have been banned proactively. The reason behind banning these accounts is to receive complaint reports. In February, 16 thousand 618 complaints were reported in the country.
