According to HFHS data, women are more likely to be sexually active than Indian men. At the age of 15, girls were more likely to experience sex than boys. The survey asked women between the ages of 25 and 49 when they first had sex. On this, 10.3 per cent women said that they had a relationship when they were 15 years old.
The number of men in this age group was 0.8 percent. In India, consensual sex is 18 years old. But 6 percent of women younger than this said in the survey that they had already had an affair. 4.3 per cent of children under the age of 18 admitted to having an early relationship.
Why do women become sexually active early?
There are many reasons why women become sexually active early. In Indian society, men's dominance and their sexual desires are forcibly fulfilled when it comes to sex. Many girls fall victim to sexual exploitation at an early age. 3% of women surveyed said they had been sexually assaulted before reaching the age of 22.
The average age for sexual intercourse was 17.5 for uneducated girls and 22.8 for girls 12 years or more. Among the economically poor girls, sexual intercourse was ranked 17th, while that of rich girls was ranked 21st. He was 2 years old. Children, on the other hand, first experienced sexual intercourse between the ages of 22 and 25.
