Indian film actor Chiyaan Vikram has been admitted to Kauvery Hospital in Chennai. His spokesperson said the star was taken to the hospital after he complained of chest discomfort. However, some media reports also claim that he suffered a heart attack due to which he had to be taken to the hospital. On the other hand, the actor's manager Suryanarayan M has made several tweets asking fans not to believe in heart attack rumours.

Vikram's manager said, don't believe in rumours
He wrote in a post, 'Dear Fans Wellwisher Chiyan Vikram had mild chest pain and is being treated. As the report falsely claims, he has suffered a heart attack and this is a rumour. We are very sad to hear this.' He further said, 'We appeal to you to give him and his family the privacy they need at this time. Our dear Chian is fine now. He is likely to be discharged from the hospital in a day. We hope this statement will put an end to the rumours.' Provides that false rumours will be put to rest.

Vikram could not attend the trailer launch of Ponniyin Selvan
According to hospital sources, Vikram's condition is stable and is currently under the care of doctors. The Tamil actor was to attend the trailer launch of Mani Ratnam-directed upcoming film 'Ponniyin Selvan' in Chennai, which is scheduled to take place at 6 pm. However, due to health issues before that, he will not be able to attend this event. In the film, he will be seen in the role of Aditya Karikalan and its lead actress is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Vikram's film is to release on August 11
Apart from the magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan', Vikram has R. Ajay Gnanamuthu's 'Cobra' starring KGF fame actress Srinidhi Shetty and the film is slated to release on August 11. The actor has also signed director Pa Ranjith's upcoming film and was earlier seen in Kartik Subbaraj-directed 'Mahaan', which stars his son actor Dhruv Vikram. The film premiered on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
