Uric acid is a toxin produced in the body, which is easily filtered out by the kidneys through urine. When the kidneys fail to remove uric acid through urine, it accumulates in the joints. Now the question arises why does uric acid increase in the body? Obesity, some diseases like diabetes, kidney disease, and diet are responsible for increasing uric acid. Diet means a high protein diet that includes beef, mutton, animal organs such as the liver, and excessive consumption of alcohol. Pricking pain in the joints is very disturbing due to the increase in uric acid.

According to Medical News Today, uric acid levels are different in women and men. The normal range of uric acid in women is 1.5 to 6.0 mg/dL while in men it should be 2.4 to 7.0 mg/dL. If the level of uric acid in men exceeds 7.0 mg/dL, then it becomes very dangerous for the body. If your uric acid level is around 7.0 mg/dL, you are crossing the border. In such a situation, you need to avoid certain foods. Let us know what things to avoid when uric acid reaches the borderline. You can easily reduce uric acid by skipping some things from the diet.

Avoid Non-Veg:

If uric acid is on the borderline, then first of all avoid non-veg food. Consuming non-veg food rich in purines increases the level of uric acid rapidly. Patients with uric acid should not consume non-veg at all.

Sugary drinks increase uric acid rapidly:

It has been revealed in many types of research that consuming sugary drinks increases the level of uric acid rapidly. Sugary drinks contain fructose which rapidly increases uric acid. Apart from sugary drinks, avoid consuming soda, cold drinks, sports drinks, and other drinks as well.

Avoid these vegetables:

If you want to control the increased uric acid, then avoid some vegetables. Consumption of certain vegetables such as brinjal, spinach, arbi, cabbage, and mushrooms is effective in increasing uric acid.

Stop drinking beer and alcohol immediately:

If the uric acid level is high, then stop consuming beer and alcohol. Beer and wine prove to be effective in increasing uric acid. Consumption of beer and alcohol causes dehydration in the body, in which case the kidney has to work hard to remove these toxins. If uric acid is borderline, then first of all stop drinking alcohol and beer.

Drink more water:

If you want to control uric acid, then drink maximum water. If you consume more water, it will be easier for the kidneys to filter the uric acid out of the body.
