Kartarpur Sahib Pakistani Model Photoshoot News: In pictures shared on social media, a model can be seen posing for an advertisement for a women's clothing brand at a gurdwara in Pakistan Punjab province. Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, is believed to have spent his last days from 1521 to 1539 at the site where the Gurudwara is now.

The Pakistan Police has launched an investigation against a Pakistani model and apparel brand for hurting religious sentiments of the Sikh community after a headless photoshoot for a brand of apparel was conducted at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur. The police started this investigation after an Indian Sikh journalist criticized the photographs. Independent journalist Ravinder Singh tweeted mentioning that the pictures have been uploaded on social media. He also underlined the disrespect towards the community. Singh also tagged Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in his post.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party government in Punjab province swung into action after criticism on social media over the photoshoot. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar issued a statement saying that he has taken cognizance of the incident and ordered an inquiry into the matter. He said that action would be taken against the officials who allowed 'modeling' in the gurdwara. He said, 'Action will be taken against those responsible after a comprehensive inquiry into the matter'. Legal action will be taken. An investigation is being done against the management and model of the respective brand. Places of worship of all religions are respected equally.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry tweeted, 'The designer and model should apologize to the Sikh community for the photographs.' He tweeted, 'Kartarpur Sahib is a religious symbol...' The pictures were shared on the Instagram page of an apparel brand named 'Mannat Clothing' but were taken down after criticism. The company also apologized for this.

Reacting to the entire controversy, the 'Mannat Clothing' brand apologized in a post on Instagram and denied that the pictures posted on their account were part of any photoshoots done by them. He said, 'These photos were provided to us by a third party (blogger) in which our dress was worn.' However, we accept our mistake that we should not have posted this material and we Apologize to everyone who has been hurt by this.' Model/blogger Souleha Imtiaz, who posed in the pictures, also apologized, saying, 'I am just now in Kartarpur to learn about the history and learn about the Sikh community. Went. This was not done to hurt anyone's sentiments.

Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, is believed to have spent his last days from 1521 to 1539 at the site where the Gurudwara is now. This is not the first time that Pakistani models and actresses have faced criticism for doing photo shoots at religious places. Pakistani actress and model Saba Qamar, who starred in the Bollywood film 'Hindi Medium', was booked for blasphemy for a photoshoot at the historic Wazir Khan mosque in the old city of Lahore.
