Most people pay for any subscription through Google UPI. But now Google has made this process easier. Now you will not need to make the manual payment again and again, but you will be able to make the payment automatically. That means now your regular subscription will be paid automatically. You don't have to do anything about this.
The Reserve Bank of India issued guidelines regarding recurring payments in 2020 itself. In these guidelines, many changes were made in the payment model based on subscriptions. Regarding UPI Auto Pay, it is believed that now it can emerge as a special option. Till now the facility of UPI Auto Pay is available only for Google Play Store.
How is payment done through UPI?
The Auto Pay feature of UPI was launched by NPCI under UPI 2.0. With its help, users can make recurring payments through any UPI application. It becomes easy for the users to pay for the subscription through Auto Pay. While taking any subscription, users have to choose the mode of payment of their choice in the cart after choosing the plan. Now here users have to tap on "Pay with UPI".
There will be convenience in payment for users
Saurabh Agarwal, Head of India, Vietnam, Australia, and New Zealand, Google Play Retail & Payments Activation, said, “We are always on the lookout for better payment methods to make a low app and in-app payments convenient. Now with the introduction of UPI Autopay on the platform, we are also adding the convenience of paying through UPI to subscription-based purchases.”
What are the benefits of UPI Auto Pay?
UPI Auto Pay was launched in July 2020 by the National Payment Corporation of India. Under this feature, users can give an e-mandate through the UPI application. These mandates can be done for payments like mobile bills, electricity bills, EMI, and OTT subscriptions. With its help, users can easily pay the subscription without any penalty or late fee. In this, users can also choose the payment option regularly like monthly, or quarterly and can be paid from Rs 1 to Rs 5,000. Users can also make changes in it according to their own.
