Dr Nivedita Dadu says, “Ageing reduces essential proteins like collagen and elastin in the skin, which in turn affect the elasticity of the skin. Often, the skin tissue under the eyes is affected in the early stages and results in signs of ageing, such as bags under the eyes and dark circles.

She further said, 'Under-eye bags can take a toll on your youthful and spotless skin. Hence, getting rid of eye bags is extremely important to look young and fresh and ward off the signs of ageing.

Cold Spoon for Eye bags

Cold steel spoons help to relax the blood vessels and reduce swelling. It can help in reducing the swelling under the eyes.

Material Required-

  • Steel spoon - 4

How to do-

  • Put the spoons in the fridge for half an hour.
  • Place the spoon on your eye with the curved side down.
  • Keep this position for about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Use this cold compress method twice a day.

Tea Bags for Eye Bags

Do not throw away the remaining bags of green tea, but use them to reduce the swelling under the eyes. It contains antioxidants that rejuvenate the skin around your eyes and help reduce inflammation, redness and swelling of the retina.

It contains tannins that help reduce inflammation. Apart from this, due to its cooling, the blood vessels constrict and help you to relax.

Ingredients-

  • Green tea bags
  • Cold water

How to do-

  • Refrigerate tea bags.
  • Keep the cold tea bags on your eyelids for 10-15 minutes.
  • Repeat the process a few times a day for faster results.

Cucumber for Eye Bags

Chilled cucumber is one of the best home remedies to get rid of eye bags. Cucumber reduces irritation, while the cooling effect reduces inflammation. This remedy not only helps in treating eye bags but also helps in getting rid of dark circles and wrinkles around the eyes.

Ingredients required-

  • Cucumber pieces - 4 slices

How to do-

  • Put the slices in the fridge for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Remove them from the fridge and place the cold slices on your eyelids.
  • Leave them like this for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Repeat this several times a day.
