The central government has extended the last date for updating Aadhaar card details free of cost. Earlier, the last date was June 14, 2023, which has now been extended, allowing users three more months to update their Aadhaar card information. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has specified that users can upload their identity and address proofs till September 14.

How to Upload Address Proof for Free:

  • Go to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
  • Login with your details and select 'Name, Gender, Date of Birth, and Address Update'.
  • Click on the “Update Aadhaar Online” option.
  • Select an address from the demographic option and click on 'Proceed to Update Aadhaar'.
  • Upload the scanned copy of the document and enter other required options.
  • Make the required payment.
  • A service request number will be generated, and now you can save it

How to Track Update Requests:

After submitting your request to change the address on your Aadhaar Card, you will receive a URN (Update Request Number). URN number will be displayed on your screen and will be sent through an SMS on your registered mobile number. Visit https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/checkSSUPStatus/checkupdatestatus to track your Aadhar card update status.

Aadhaar Card Update: How to Update Address

Step: 1 Reach the official website of UIDAI https://www.uidai.gov.in/.

Step: 2 Next find the 'My Aadhaar' menu.

Step: 3 Select "Update Your Aadhaar" from the menu.

Step: 4 Then, from the list of options, select "update demographics data online".

Step: 5 The redesigned interface for Aadhaar Card Self-Service Portal will appear on your screen.

Step: 6 At this moment select the option "Proceed to update Aadhaar".

Step: 7 As required, enter your Aadhaar card number and complete the captcha verification.

Step: 8 Next, select "Send OTP".

Step: 9 OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.

Step: 10 After OTP verification go to the 'Update Demographics Data' option.

Step: 11 Now to make changes, click on "Address"

Step: 12 Enter the information for your new address so that it appears on your Aadhaar card.

Step: 13 Supporting document proof should be uploaded as a scanned copy.

Step: 16 Verify that all the information entered is correct.

Step: 17 Create the required payment on the payment page.

Step: 18 Use an OTP to validate the service.

Step: 19 Save it and download the program.

Step: 20 Track the status of the address update using the URN.

Steps to Update Mobile Number on Aadhaar Card Online

  • Visit the UIDAI web portal-- uidai.gov.in.
  • After entering the phone number you want to update, type the captcha in the appropriate fields.
  • Select "Send OTP" and enter the OTP that was sent to your phone number.
  • Now select "Submit OTP and Proceed".
  • The following screen will display a drop-down selection labeled "Online Aadhaar Services". Click on the one you want to update. To update the mobile number, select that option and then enter the appropriate information.
  • After entering the mobile number a new page will open. Now you have to enter a captcha. As a result of this, an OTP will be received on your number. After verifying the OTP, click on "Save and Proceed".
  • Book an appointment online and travel to the nearest Aadhaar center.
  • The database will be updated with your current mobile number within 90 days.
