Why do foot infections happen in the rainy season?

Many times water enters even in tight shoes and slippers. When the feet do not get fresh air, it leads to infection. Sometimes any past injury that has not been treated and gets drenched repeatedly in water can cause the injury to regress and then cause pain in the thumb and fingers. This is the reason why foot infections are common in this season.

These are the symptoms of toe infection

If you have an infection in your feet, then you will already start seeing some of its symptoms-

  • pain or pressure around the fingers
  • redness and swelling
  • A foul smell will come from the feet, especially from between the toes.
  • Keep the heat between the finger and thumb
  • Sometimes it can also cause a fever
  • itching problem

How to cure thumb infection-

  • Dr Sharda tells that if you have an infection in your feet, then try to keep your feet dry.
  • If the feet are wet, dry them by washing them with clean water and then apply some anti-fungal cream.
  • You can apply creams like clotrimazole, miconazole, and ketoconazole.
  • Avoid wearing closed and tight shoes and socks.

Do this work to cure infection before sleeping

  • Use lukewarm water and a soap-free cleanser to wash your feet, and then dry your feet thoroughly.
  • After drying the feet, apply anti-fungal cream once again.
  • Sometimes the dead white skin on the feet may have to be scraped off.
  • Do not remove dead skin from feet by yourself, let your dermatologist do it for you.
  • The most important thing is to keep your feet dry and avoid wearing closed shoes and socks.

Keeping your feet clean is very important. If you think the infection is spreading, talk to your doctor right away.
