Be it Teej-festival or wedding function, the Banarasi silk saree can give you the best look for every occasion. But when it comes to draping a Banarasi silk saree, many women complain that they look fat in the silk saree.

However, wearing a silk saree properly can give you a very elegant look. Today we will tell you in this article how you can drape a silk saree perfect.

Step 1

First of all, know that you should never carry a satin petticoat with a silk saree. Always wear a silk saree over a cotton fabric petticoat. The silk sari slips on the satin petticoat and there is a fear of it being opened.

Step-2

After this, you should do basic tucking with your saree. During this, you have to keep in mind that you are wearing the saree at some height. You also have to wrap the saree only once on the petticoat during the basic tuck-in.

Step-3

Now you have to make the front plates of the saree. For this, first put the part of the pallu on the shoulder. Now pin up the sari with a petticoat from both sides of the waist and then make side plates. You have to make 3-4 side plates. After this, you make the front plates. Always make the front plates of Banarasi saree of medium size. You never have to make front plates too small.

Step-4

After making the front plates, you have to make the shoulder plates. If you have belly fat then you should make slightly wider shoulder plates. On the other hand, if you are thin then you can keep the width of the shoulder plates low.

Step-5

The last thing you have to do is set up and pin-up your front and shoulder plates. If you have pinned your saree properly then its volume will automatically reduce and you will look slim in the Banarasi saree too.

Keep these things in mind -

  • Always press the silk saree before wearing; by doing this its extra volume is reduced.
  • One should never wear a very tight petticoat with a silk saree.
  • Never club a ruffle blouse with a silk saree.
