1-liter milk
3 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp ghee
1/2 cup sugar

Step 1 / 3 Boil the milk till it becomes one-third of its volume

Milk cake is undeniably one of the most delicious sweet recipes that can be prepared very easily at home by following a few simple steps. Take a deep saucepan and bring the milk to a boil on high flame. Then boil it on medium flame till it reduces to one-third of its quantity. Keep stirring the milk well in between, so that the milk will not stick to the bottom.

Step 2 / 3 Let the milk granulate

You must have noticed that milk cake is grainy in texture. To prepare that granular mixture, add lemon juice to boiling milk. In the end, you will see that the milk will burst to separate the water. Now stir the milk well and cook the mixture till it becomes light brown and grainy in texture. Now put sugar in the pan and stir it well for some time. Cook the mixture till it thickens. At this step, you will notice that it emits a nice aroma and a light to dark brown color. Switch off the flame and let it cool down a bit.

Step 3/3 Let the milk cake set before cutting it into square pieces

Now finally set the milk cake. For this, take a plate and grease it well by applying some ghee or ghee. This is done to prevent the milk cake from sticking to the bottom. Spread the mixture evenly on the plate and keep it for 24 hours. Once it is set, use a hot knife to take them out and let them sit at room temperature for 15 minutes. Cut the milk cake into desired shape and size and serve fresh. You can also store the milk cake in an airtight container and serve it when required. Milk cake has a shelf life of at least 7 days.
