Electric Scooter: Gurgaon-based Okinawa Autotech has overtaken Hero Electric to become the number one electric two-wheeler. Last month, Okinawa sold the most electric vehicles. According to a report by JMK Research, Okinawa sold a total of 6,098 electric scooters in December 2021, while Hero Electric sold a total of 6,058 units.

Notably, this is the first time in seven months that Okinawa has held the No. 1 spot on the sales charts. Earlier in April and May 2021 too, Okinawa defeated Hero Electric. Currently, Okinawa has three scooters in its high-speed range - the Ridge, Praise Pro and I Praise Plus - with prices ranging from Rs 71,000 to Rs 1.06 lakh (ex-showroom).

According to the report, Okinawa topped the sales of electric two-wheelers in December 2021 and Hero Electric was second. With this, Ampere Vehicles and Ather Energy have been ranked third and fourth in December 2021.

24,725 high-speed electric two-wheelers were sold in December 2021. There has been a growth of 444% in sales on a yearly basis and a growth of 10 percent on a monthly basis. Explain that due to the shortage of semiconductors and increasing demand for lithium-ion cells, many companies are facing supply problems. Hero Electric has currently stopped taking bookings. The same is the case with Ather Energy and Ola Electric.
