Sugar

Adding sugar to milk is very common. But still, it is advised not to use it. In particular, the use of sugar should be especially avoided while giving milk to babies. This affects their mental growth. On the other hand, when sugar is added in excess in milk, it increases your calorie count. Due to this, conditions like diabetes can arise from weight gain to a person. So, try to avoid adding sugar to milk. If you want to sweeten it, then a natural sweetener like honey or stevia can be used.

Avoid caffeine

Some people also mix caffeine in milk to keep themselves alert. They take milk as tea or coffee. While doing so is also not considered good. This not only deprives you of the goodness you get from milk but can also lead to restlessness, sleeplessness, increased heart rate and digestive problems.

Chocolate syrup or flavored syrup

Children love to drink chocolate milk and hence chocolate syrup is often added to their milk. On the other hand, adults use different types of flavored syrup or powder in the market to make milk tasty. But using them too much should be avoided. A lot of sugar, artificial colour and unhealthy fats are found in this type of syrup. Due to this not only is there a risk of weight gain, but there can also be many other health problems.

Artificial sweetener

People who are health conscious often prefer to use artificial sweeteners instead of sugar in milk. They feel that by doing this they can easily maintain their calorie count. But regular excessive use of artificial sweeteners is not considered good for health. Some studies have shown that artificial sweeteners have negative effects on gut bacteria and metabolism. Not only this, but it can also lead to the problem of weight gain instead of weight loss.
