Ingredients
Fresh Mawa – 250 grams
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Sugar – 3/4 cup
Pistachio slices - 1 tbsp
Desi ghee - 1 tbsp

Recipe
First of all, choose fresh mawa. Grate or crumble the mawa (khoya) in a vessel.
Now heat a pan on medium flame and add crumbled mawa and fry it.
Fry the mawa while stirring and after some time when it turns light brown, turn off the gas. Take out the roasted mawa on a plate and keep it to cool down.
Meanwhile, take a plate or tray and grease its bottom with a little ghee. Now put sugar and one-third cup of water in the pan and heat it.
Make such a syrup that it starts freezing immediately after pouring it on the plate. Then turn off the gas and let the syrup cool down and keep stirring.
When the sugar syrup cools down, add roasted mawa to it and mix it well.
After mixing the sugar syrup properly, add cardamom powder to it.
After this, put the prepared mixture in the tray and spread it evenly, and leave it to set by adding pistachio shavings on top.
It takes 4-6 hours for the barfi to set. After this cut the mawa burfi into desired shape and take it out from the tray. Barfi is ready to serve.
