The Supreme Court, ruling in favor of the cinema hall managers, has prohibited taking outside food inside the hall. The court has given this decision canceling the decision of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
The Cinema hall is a place of entertainment where people go to watch movies and enjoy themselves. This is why cinema halls have been built. But it has often been seen that many people bring snack items so that they can watch the movie as well as satisfy their hunger. But now all these are strictly prohibited. The Supreme Court has set aside the decision of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court allowing outside eatables to be taken into cinema halls. The top court said during the hearing that it is the choice and desire of the audience to go to which theater to watch the film. Similarly, it is the right of the hall management to make rules there. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha said this during the hearing.
Canceled the order of Jammu and Kashmir High Court
The Supreme Court said during the hearing that the cinema hall is the private property of the management. If someone wants to take Jalebi to the hall, the owner of the cinema hall can forbid him by saying that if the audience wipes their sugar-coated fingers from the seat after eating Jalebi, then who will pay for the damaged seat? With these observations, the Supreme Court has set aside the order of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, in which the High Court had allowed outside food and drinks to be taken into the hall.
Drinking water should be clean
The Supreme Court reiterated that food for small children in cinema halls and drinking water for all should be clean and free. Also, allow a reasonable amount of food for small children accompanying their parents.
