When it comes to beauty and skincare routines, many people rely on DIY skincare tips. Some of these work, but some react quite the opposite. Many such viral remedies are also told on social media which are called panacea. Not only this, it is believed that due to these tips your skin will start glowing or your hair will become very fine, but they do not work.

But can you tell without trying it which remedies will work and which will not? But many dermatologists tell how many DIY remedies can work and how many do not.

Dermatologist Dr. AanchalPanth of Dermafollix skin & hair transplant clinic has shared information related to this on his Instagram account. He told that no matter how viral these hacks are, but they do not work.

1. Lemon for Dark Spots-

Lemon is used in most DIY beauty recipes. Yes, lemon has bleaching power, but it sensitizes the skin and can reduce dark spots. The use of lemon can bother many people more and not only this, but it can also increase your dark spots. The use of lemon sensitizes your skin and in this case, your skin becomes more sensitive to sunlight. In such a situation, instead of decreasing the dark spots, they can increase more. Especially if your complexion is dusky, then it will have the opposite effect.

2. Baking soda in underarms-

Baking soda is not good for your skin at all. Baking soda only harms your skin and no matter what way you are applying it, it is wrong.

3. Applying toothpaste on acne-

Most people believe that applying toothpaste to acne can prove to be beneficial, but it is not. Don't believe those who claim to make it go overnight as it can cause skin burns. Acne means that the skin is open from that place and by applying toothpaste on it, the skin gets damaged even more.

Not only does this lead to spots, but it also takes more time for the acne to heal.

4. Milk powder for fairness-

A very big myth is that if you apply whitening products to your face, your skin will turn white. Milk powder does nothing for your fairness. Yes, milk powder does contain lactic acid, but it will not affect your skin tone at all. She will remain as it is.

5. Applying lime or acid on warts-

Applying lime on moles or moles is a very common practice, but it should not be done. This will also irritate, you will also feel pain and at the same time, your skin will also burn. If you think that after this the wart will come out, then it is not so. This method is not effective at all for removing warts.

6. Betnovate Cream on Acne-

You will find many youtube videos and links that say that using steroids for acne can be beneficial. But this is a wrong fact and it should not be done at all. If you do this then the skin can also be damaged. Apply steroids to your skin only if prescribed by a dermatologist. If you do not do this, then your face can also get very bad. Due to these, the skin layer becomes thinner and in such a situation, acne can be more.

All these hacks are believed to be very good for your skin, but they are not. You should not use any such DIY recipe without a doctor's advice.
