Signs of Insulin Resistance in People with PCOD
- When cells do not respond properly to insulin due to insulin resistance, the pancreas sends more insulin in an attempt to normalize blood sugar levels.
- The sugar which is ultimately not absorbed into the blood starts accumulating around the stomach.
- Due to insulin resistance, insulin increases in the blood due to which the ovaries start producing more androgens and due to this, ovulation is affected.
- Due to an increase in androgen, problems like unwanted hair, acne and hair fall start appearing on the face.
