SBI Debit Card PIN Generation: Till now, PIN was also shared in an envelope along with the debit card received from banks. But now banks have changed this rule. Any customer is given the option to generate the debit card PIN himself. Similarly, if you have also opened a new account in SBI or have re-issued your debit card, now you can activate your debit card by going to the ATM and generating the PIN as per your choice. Apart from this, one can also avail of this facility through the SMS process and internet banking of the bank.

How to generate your debit card PIN from an SBI ATM?
- First of all, insert your debit card into the ATM and select the option of PIN generation.
- Now you have to enter 11 digits of your account number and click on the confirm option.
- After this, there will be an option to fill in the mobile number registered in the account, enter your mobile number and confirm.
- Now your green PIN will be sent to your registered number from the screen display of the ATM.
- After clicking on the confirm option, you will see a message on the display.
- In this, you will get the message that your Green PIN has been successfully generated and now you will get the Green PIN on your mobile number.
- Finally OTP will also come on your given mobile number.
- Now, you have to remove your debit card from the ATM slot and re-insert it.
- Here you have to choose the option of banking.
- Here you can also choose your language otherwise proceed in English only.
- Now you will have to enter the OTP already received on your mobile number on the display.
- You will get the option to change the PIN here, choose the option of select transaction.
- As per your convenience, create a four-digit PIN which you cannot forget.
- After this, you will get the message to change the PIN on the ATM display.
- Memorize the PIN or write it down somewhere safe.
- You will have to use this entered ATM PIN all the time to use the ATM.
- This is required while making payment transactions through debit cards and while doing online transactions.
How to generate your SBI Debit Card PIN online?
- Open the official website or app of SBI on your mobile phone.
- Click on the “Debit Card” tab.
- Select the “Generate New PIN” option.
- Enter your debit card number, date of birth and customer ID.
- Enter a new PIN that is 4 digits long and does not contain any special characters.
- Enter the new PIN again for verification.
- Now click on the “Generate” button.
If you forget your SBI Debit Card PIN, you can reset it by following these methods:
- Open the official website or app of SBI on your mobile phone.
- Click on the “Debit Card” tab.
- Select the "Reset PIN" option.
- Enter your debit card number, date of birth and customer ID.
- Click the "Submit" button.
- An SMS will be sent to your mobile phone containing an OTP.
- Enter the OTP and click on the “Submit” button.
Be careful while generating an SBI Debit Card PIN
- Never write your PIN on the card, remember your PIN.
- Do not take help from any stranger for use nor hand over your card to anyone.
- Do not disclose your PIN to anyone including bank employees and family members.
- Avoid talking on mobile phones while making transactions.
