After knowing the side effects of sitting for a long time, you will hardly be able to sit by clinging to your chair. In a study, it has come to the fore that people who work continuously while sitting are at risk of diseases ranging from heart to bones.

A joint study by Scott Lear, professor of health sciences at Simon Fraser University, and Wei Li of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing, has revealed that there is a direct relationship between constant sitting and heart. In this research, which lasted for about 11 years, it was found that the risk of early death and heart disease was found to be higher with prolonged sitting. At the same time, problems of arthritis and high blood pressure were also found.

The research, published in JAMA Cardiology magazine, involved more than 100,000 individuals across the country. People who sat for between six and eight hours a day had a 12–13 percent increased risk of premature death and heart disease. went. If this is increased to eight hours a day, the risk increases to 20 percent.

Lear said that the risk of disease depends on how long you sit. He said that if one has to sit for a long time, then he has to take breaks in between and try to reduce this risk through some exercises.

The risk of heart disease is lower for those who are active
It has been revealed in the study that the risk of heart disease in people who remain active is very low. Those who sat for long periods and were the least active had a health risk of more than 50 percent. Whereas those who were most active, in addition to sitting for long periods, were found to have a risk of only about 17 percent. The research found that people who sat and exercised for more than four hours a day had a lower risk of up to two percent.
