Dahi Vada, also known as Dahi Bhalla, is a common dish served at weddings and special occasions in India. It is believed that it helps in digestion and is very tasty. Today we have brought for you a recipe to make it at home. Let us know how you can make it.

Material:

1/2 kilogram urad dal

1 cup curd

1 teaspoon sugar

2 tablespoons cumin powder

1 tablespoon chaat masala

1/4 teaspoon black salt

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup refined oil

2 tablespoons finely chopped Fresh coriander

2 green chillies chopped

2 inch piece of ginger

1 tbsp tamarind paste

Salt as per taste

Instruction:

First of all, take urad dal and wash it thoroughly. Soak it in water overnight.

In the morning, extract some water from the soaked lentils and grind it with the help of a mixer or grinder to make a smooth paste. The batter should be thick enough to make vada easily.

Now beat the batter well and make it puffy. Add baking powder and salt to the batter and beat again.

To check whether the batter is ready to make vadas or not, take a small amount of batter and add it to a glass of water. If it floats on the surface then the batter is ready.

Heat oil in a deep frying pan on medium flame.

Wet your hands and take a lemon-sized portion of the batter. Flatten it and put it in hot oil. Fry the vadas until they turn golden brown. Then, lower the flame and fry them until they become crispy and brown all over.

Take out the fried vadas and soak them in a bowl of water for 15 to 20 minutes.

Once soaked, press the vadas gently between your wet palms to remove excess water and oil.

Keep the vadas aside. Now take curd and filter it through a sieve so that the lumps present in it are removed.

Add sugar and salt to the curd and beat it well.

To prepare Dahi Vada Masala, first dry roast cumin seeds until they turn brown and the aroma starts coming from them. Once roasted, let them cool and grind them finely with the help of a mixer.

Finely chop green chilies, green coriander, and ginger.

Now, pour the curd mixture into the vadas, making sure they are completely submerged.

Sprinkle cumin powder, red chili powder, and chaat masala on top. Also, add tamarind chutney.

Garnish with chopped green chilies and fresh coriander leaves.

Your Dahi Vada is ready to serve!
