Ingredients for making halwa
Semolina: 1 cup
Sugar: 1 cup
Ghee: 4-5 tbsp
Cashews, almonds, raisins: 2-3 tbsp (finely chopped)
Cardamom powder: 1/2 tsp
Method
To make semolina halwa, first of all, heat 4-5 tbsp ghee in a pan on medium flame. Now add 1 cup semolina to this hot ghee and fry it on low-medium flame while stirring continuously until it becomes light golden and aromatic.
While the semolina is being roasted, boil 2 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar in another vessel. Heat it till the sugar dissolves completely. When the semolina is roasted well, slowly add the hot sugar-water mixture to it.
Keep in mind that there should be no splashing while adding this mixture, so add it slowly and carefully. Mix this mixture well and cook on low flame till the halwa thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
When it thickens, add finely chopped cashews, almonds, raisins, and 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder and mix well. Now finally cover this halwa for 5 minutes so that its taste increases more. Now serve it hot and win the hearts of your in-laws.
