Mango Shikanji is made from mangoes, lemon juice, spices, and cold water. This is a great drink to beat the heat. The recipe for making Mango Shikanji is as follows:

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe mangoes
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 4-6 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp black salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • Pieces of ice
  • fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instruction:

  • Peel the mango and take out the pulp from the seed. Cut the mango pulp into small pieces.
  • In a blender add mango pieces, lime juice, sugar, roasted cumin powder, black salt, and black pepper powder.
  • Blend this mixture until you get a smooth puree.
  • Take out the mango puree in a big jug.
  • Pour cold water into a jug and stir well to mix all the ingredients.
  • Taste the Mango Shikanji and adjust the sweetness and sourness by adding more sugar or lemon juice if required.
  • Add ice cubes to the pitcher or pour the mango shikanji into individual glasses filled with ice cubes.
  • Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
  • Serve chilled and enjoy fresh Mango Shikanji.
