Ingredients to make Chana Dal Barfi
Chana Dal – 1 cup
Milk - 2 cups
Cashew - 3 tbsp
Almonds - 3
Pistachio slices - 1 tbsp
Cardamom - 5-7
Desi ghee - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 cup

How to make Chana Dal Barfi
To make Chana Dal Barfi, a traditional sweet for Raksha Bandhan, first clean the Chana Dal. After this, heat the water lightly in a utensil put chana dal in it, and keep it soaked for 2 hours. After the fixed time, drain the excess water by putting the soaked dal in a strainer. After this, cut cashews and almonds into small pieces. Then peel the cardamom, take out the seeds, and prepare a coarse powder by grinding them as well.

Now spread the sieved dal on a cotton cloth and wipe it lightly. After this, put desi ghee in a pan and heat it. When the ghee melts, add gram dal and fry it while stirring until its color turns light golden and the dal becomes crispy. During this, keep the gas flame high. Dal will be roasted well in 10 to 15 minutes. After this, take out the dal on a plate and let it cool, While taking out the ghee from the pan, keep it in a bowl.

When the dal remains slightly hot, put it in the mixer and grind it finely. Now put milk and sugar in the pan and cook till the sugar becomes homogeneous with the milk. After this add ground gram dal in milk and add the remaining ghee to it. Now let everything cook while stirring with a spoon. Cook the mixture until it reaches the consistency of barfi, then turn off the gas.

Now take a plate or tray, apply ghee on its bottom, and spread the prepared mixture in equal proportion. Put finely chopped almonds, cashews, and pistachios on it and press it lightly with the help of a spoon. After this keep the barfi to set. After the barfi is set, cut it into your desired shape with the help of a knife. Delicious Chana Dal Burfi is ready for Raksha Bandhan. Whoever eats it will not be able to live without praising it.
