Many countries of the world are moving forward in the field of technology and their economy is also improving, but among the poor countries of the world, Burundi comes first. Here people hardly get the basic facilities to live life, but why it is so in this country, let us know in this article.
Why is this country poor?
Burundi is a country located in the Great Lakes region in East Africa. It is bordered by Rwanda to the north, Tanzania to the south and east, and Congo to the west. This country was ruled by England and America. When this country became independent, the economic condition in this country was correct, but from the year 1996, the situation changed.
From 1996 to 2005, there was a major ethnic conflict between the Tutsi, Twa and Hutu tribes and millions of people died in it. Since then, the economic condition of this country kept on deteriorating. Gradually, the country became economically backward and poor. The economic condition of this country began to decline which continues till today and it came in the list of the poorest countries in the world.
The death rate is also very high
The infant mortality rate in Burundi is 87.8 infant deaths per 1,000 births. Here people do not even get enough food, due to which the infant dies at an early age.
These countries are also very poor
The Central African Republic also ranks second in the list of poor countries. The Democratic Republic of Congo is at number three. There is a store of natural resources in this country, but still, this country is very poor.
There is still such a situation in this country that here people in rural areas have to live without electricity and basic facilities.
